Investec Alternatives (within Investec Bank plc) is building its off-balance sheet funds and funding capability as a strategic growth priority, creating an opportunity to develop capital-efficient solutions that meet client needs and draw on our specialist expertise, client relationships and distinctive deal flow.

The Product Analyst will play an important role in shaping this platform, helping turn market opportunities into well-structured, scalable and operationally robust fund solutions.

Working across new fund establishment and existing fund oversight, the role brings together investment teams, internal stakeholders and external service providers to support effective product development, governance, controls, compliance, operations and investor reporting.

The role of the Product Analyst is to work on the product development, launch and ongoing management of new funds.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development
• Incorporation of fund entities
• Opening bank accounts for fund entities
• Idenditying service providers and assisting in the negotiation of key terms with service providers (e.g. Administrators, AIFM's, Depositary, Risk Advisory, Lawyers and Tax Advisers)
• Identity and assist in the establishment of subscription line and leverage facilities to support fund operations and growth
• Assist in the negotiation and completion of fund documentation (investor agreements, management agreements, PPM etc)
• Assist in concluding the funds investment strategy
Launch
• Supporting achieving regulatory approvals for fund structures
• Assisting in the onboarding of investors
• Ensuring all systems are in place and effective
Ongoing Management
• Cash flow management (capital calls, distributions, utilization of subline, cash flow forecasting)
• Risk Management (legal, regulatory, reputations)
• Transaction management – ensuring appropriate cash settlement of transactions and tracking receipt of income
• Asset valuation
• Treasury risk management – supporting the hedging of relevant exposures
• Relationship management with key stakeholders, internal and external
• Monitoring and reporting of KPIs
• Monitoring and reporting of financial, legal and regulatory reporting
• Continuous engagement with portfolio manager and investment teams

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Bcom Honours/CA with 3-5 years product analysis experience in alternative investments
